About Therapy

My therapy style is that of Journey with You.  To help you:

I do not do therapy using just the conventional, clinical ways.  I believe, to be of good help, it is essential to use a range of therapy approaches to suit the needs of each person. 

So, although my formal training involves a targeted approach to bring about mental wellness, I also use other ways of Doing Things Together. Such as:

  • Go for walks 
  • Chat over a drink
  • Do exercises 
  • Do something Creative: Draw, Write, Crafting, Music etc.

To address concerns like insomnia, anxiety, depression, addictions, phobias, eating disorders, I use Clinical Therapy.  Primarily working with the subconscious mind. 

An Integrated Therapy Approach

Often, people feel that their minds are Stuck. Like they know they need to do something, but do not know how, and cannot move themselves to do it.  

Well, the working of the mind is very complex. I’ll try to explain in a simple way. 

As we grow up, we are conditioned to use our conscious mind to process matters that cause negative emotions.  Along the way, unhealthy beliefs could be formed.

Thus creating a processing block – that “Stuck” feeling. 

The mind may be impacted by past traumatic events. Also, if one is under medication or doesn’t sleep well, the mind’s ability to process is greatly impaired. 

Guided Imagery

Hypnotherapy works directly with the part of the mind that stores beliefs, occurrences, fears, emotions and meanings – The Subconscious Mind.  

This part of our mind is imaginative, creative and sensory.  In therapy, I primarily use stories, imageries, sensory actions to help the mind process and action to change for better.  

So, in a nicely relaxed state, allow your mind to be in heightened awareness and focus. In so, you fully capture and work on the healing suggestions. 

Doing Things Together also helps to activate our mind’s processing. 

I will also integrate other psychotherapy approaches such as Gestalt, CBT, EMDR.
